Apartment blocks stand smartly together.
Slight changes in height, but all are monsters.
Roofs designed slanted like houses give
the futuristic feel more validity.

Windows like dots hold 2.4 behind,
huddled together for safety from
the giant numbers stamped on the side.
Watch over ants with their all knowing eye.

Buildings of white, cream and beige
hold no secret – it can all be read
through windows and the word on the street.
There are no writings on the walls.

Personnel space is not heard of, nor are
belongings, literature, or erotica.
Entertainment is watched with the same smile.
Government percentage is the only study.

There are many young suicides that are
practiced in the traditional style,
but they are soon replaced, positions filled.
The greater production will never cease.

All is safe now, subdued, and sterilised.
The bugs scuffle, the eyes looking over –
safe in the knowledge, what happens today,
is repeated tomorrow and yesterday.
