MIDNIGHT AFTER:LIZZ

I cry at midnight
sweet wine in a shattered glass
shards on the carpet
and staining the floor.
Flies buzz around me
resting on my broken heart
whis'pring in my ear
too late to be alone.
Mousse cake in my stomach
like mud sifting through my hair
and coating all my insides
with decadence and pain.
Stilettos stuck in plaster
and a quiet hum of music
from the endless sleeping stereo
that never fades away.
Blood and love and lusty corners
moonshine on the windowsill
shining on disaster
and the bloodshed in my heart.
